AOD@theGP is a free service for patients with problematic alcohol or drug use and their families. It's based on an early-intervention, evidence-based model, and is designed and delivered by Caraniche to assist GPs.

GPs are uniquely placed to identify and intervene with patients whose alcohol or drug use is

at risk of being unhealthy. But while the benefits of early intervention are well-documented, it

can be difficult for GPs to dedicate time and resources to provide preventative treatment,

especially when a patient doesn’t yet recognise there is an issue.

To support GPs in engaging at-risk patients earlier, the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network has commissioned Caraniche to introduce AOD@theGP at a number of GP clinics in Melbourne’s north.

Millpark Superclinic and Tristar Medical Group Epping are the first clinics to have access to the service.

If you would like to express your interest in this service, or for more information, contact AOD@theGP Project Manager Debbie Lindsey: dlindsey@caraniche.com.au or 0427 516 427.
